Tadeusz Wroński Foundation for the Violin and  Chopin University of Music in Warsaw announce   
The 7TH International Tadeusz Wroński Solo Violin Competition. 
The Competition will be held in Warsaw on 22-28 September 2025.
 
RULES OF THE 7TH INTERNATIONAL TADEUSZ WROŃSKI SOLO VIOLIN COMPETITION
 
I.  The Competition is open to violinists of all nationalities born after September 22, 1990.
 
II. The hearings will take place in the concert hall of the Frederick Chopin Music University in Warsaw, and will be open to the public.
 
III. The order of appearance of participants will be determined by ballot and will remain fixed for the duration of the Competition. 
 
IV. The Competition is in three stages.  
The second stage is limited to twenty (20) competitors.  
The third stage is limited to ten (10) competitors. 
 
V. The organisers will award five main prizes in total amount 65.000 Euro and additional prizes and distinctions.   
 
VI. All decisions concerning the awards shall be made by the Jury. This and all other judgements are final and may not be challenged.
 
VII. The previous first prize-winners of the Tadeusz Wroński Solo Violin Competition are not permitted to participate.
 
VIII. The international Jury will be composed of outstanding violinists and violin teachers. 
 
IX. The prize-winners will carry the title „Laureate of the International Tadeusz Wroński Solo Violin Competition”.
 
X. The Competition will close with a gala recital of the laureates. The prize-winners and those awarded with distinctions are obliged to participate in it without a fee. The program of the recital will be decided by the Jury.  The director of the Competition has the right to decide whether any performance in the Competition may be:
     a/ broadcast by the radio or television,
     b/ registered (tape or film) and, subsequently, presented to  the public,
     c/ photographed (in compliance with the rules applied to photo- taking at indoor public events), without financial compensation to participants.
 
XI. The participants are responsible for their travel expenses to and from Warsaw and for their accommodation during the first stage of the Competition. Accommodation cost for participants qualified to subsequent stages of the Competition will be covered by the organisers.
 
XII. The candidates should send their applications by registered mail to the 7TH International Tadeusz Wroński Solo Violin Competition, Tadeusz Wroński Foundation for Violin email: wronski.fundacja.skrzypce@gmail.com,  Deadline for the applications is June 20, 2025.
 
XIII.  A pre-selection will be held on June 20-22 in which the candidates will participate. Three-person jury. The candidate should be sent the video recording in electronic form (link). This video should contain two pieces for solo violin performed by the candidates. Recordings cannot be subjected to the use of editing, processing or enhancement technologies. Any attempt to tamper with the recording file will disqualify candidates from participating in the competition. 
 
XIV. Applications should contain:
 an application form with the following data concerning the  candidate: 
 1. electronic Google form,      
 2.  a copy of birth certificate, or other official confirmation of the date of birth,
 3.  a photograph in size not less than 300dpi
 4.  a copy of a bank statement confirming the transfer of a  participation fee of  150 Euro,

XV.  The successful candidates will be informed by the organisers by June 25, 2025. Candidates not accepted for reasons of non-compliance with the Rules will also be notified.

XVII. The electronically sent application form+ RODO is tantamount to reading and accepting the regulations by the Candidate.
 
XVII. The participants must present themselves at the Competition Bureau in the Frederick Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, 2 Okólnik Street, by noon of  22 September 2025 at the latest.  
 
XVIII. In any case of doubt the original Polish-language version of the Rules remains binding.

J.S. Bach – Ciaccona from the Partita D minor, no2, for Solo Violin, BWV 1004,
2/ E. Ysaÿe  – one Sonata from Sonatas for solo violin op27,

2/ a piece of the candidate’s choice, not repertoire already presented in any previous stage of the Competition***.

ATTENTION:  All pieces should by performed by memory. (except Meyer “Con Effetto”)
 
*/ The organizer recommends the 12th edition of Telemann’s Fantasia by Twoja Muza Edition. They can send music at the candidate’s request.
